Ran Ancor is Francesco Mancori, video maker and musician, born in ’69 with a degree in the Philosophy of Science and an expert in information technology and electronic languages. Along with Elisa Sonato he is the founder of EXTRALIGHT advanced visual. He has set up installations, video for dance and theatre, managed the direction of contemporary musical works and has collaborated as a VJ at electronic music happenings. The artistic research of Ran Ancor stems from the world of information technology and electronics where digital techniques and analogical instruments become the material with which he produces art. In many of his video productions he picks up and modulates electric signals to generate extremely complex images in real time, segments for the eye, mandala-like structures in continuous movement.
BLOW DREAM is an absorbing environment within which the perceptions are intensified and habitual special references are lost. Stepping over the threshold is to enter another dimension, coloured and fluttering, light and cloudy, dreamlike and fantastic that encourages the eye to imagine and create unconventional vistas. A meditative visual exercise that favours the development of the senses towards levels where it becomes possible to see beyond.
