INDIAN VILLAGE is a traditional village, a journey into the world of Native America between the past and the present. For thousands of years, western civilisation has evolved trying to dominate and modify the environment that surrounds it; the Indians on the other hand are part of it: no domination, no modification – these mantra form a fundamental part of their spiritual beliefs.
With a encampment of Indian tents (Teepee’s) and through a series of activities, Dharma Village and it’s partners would like to offer the opportunity to experience life in an American or Canadian village from 1870 until the present day. INDIAN VILLAGE also offers performances by and interaction with Native Indians themselves, in a manner that shows a true representation of the native American culture and that encourages people to delve deeper in this culture through art, crafts, literature and the history and traditions of this population.
INDIAN VILLAGE is organised by Dharma in collaboration with MITA KUYE OYASIN, an association that aims to foster Native American culture by promoting and publicising an authentic picture of the Indians.
“ the human race is like the sun and it’s populations are the rays. When one population dies the earth becomes colder as the sun begins to expire itself”
